Reality star Khloe Kardashian is pointing the finger at her accountant for creating a big tax mistake. According to the website TMZ, Kardashian has an outstanding tax bill close to $20,000 with the state of California. According to reports, Kardashian owes $18,490.74 in back taxes from 2007.
Although Kardashian’s rep didn’t want to comment on the tax issue, close friends tell TMZ that the tax backlog isn’t Kardashian’s fault– it’s her accountant who is to blame. They say Kardashian paid the bill to her accountant, who never sent the money to the state to clear the tax lien. However, Kardashian has now paid the bill in full and should be cleared of any issues soon.
Kardashian may be the latest in a long line of celebrities with unpaid tax issues. Recently media outlets said that Chris Tucker owed $11.5 million to the IRS. Apparently Tucker failed to pay taxes for five years including 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, and 2006.
