Recognizing the fact that the economy is flagging, the Federal Government, extremely concerned about the condition of America, decided to begin distributing the stimulus packages on April 28th, four days ahead of schedule.
President Bush commented on the decision, saying that the 28th marked the date in which the households of America could begin to expect their tax rebates checks. He also said that the money has been planned to help Americans overcome the high prices that they’re seeing in regards to the gas and the food that they require on a daily basis.
The government announced the early distribution of the stimulus checks on the 24th, after saying the previous month that it would start mailing out the money on the 2nd of May. This decision came after a deep consideration of the current issues facing America and the need for prompt action to resolve the struggling prosperity of the nation.
Already over a million U.S. citizens have received their rebates by means of direct deposit, and many more are expected to obtain theirs. Within the following days, tens of millions of Americans that have filed their taxes last year will get a stimulus package that should hopefully offset the tremendous financial burdens that they are experiencing.
The reason why the government was able to achieve a faster deployment of the stimulus package was because a new computer program was utilized that updates database records on a daily basis — a remarkable contrast in speed compared to the older system which could only do updates weekly. This information comes from a statement issued by Treasure spokesman Andrew DeSouza.
All things considered, the department of Treasury is expected to distribute more than $110b to over 130m citizens by the end of July, while the department hopes to distribute at least $50b by the end of May.
The checks themselves are the cornerstone of an immense relief effort conceived by the U.S. Government to provide much-needed support to the residents of the country. The intended effect is to help boost the economy by revitalizing commerce and helping to minimize the effect of gas prices on the wallets of everyone.
